i wonder if howard should straighten out the flag lot he created, when he helped with his brotherss lot. im sure he should have to put right other real estate matters prior to being granted new zoning. but hey that is just me.

I'm not sure what this means.
He and Marsha have to pass one more public hearing before they clear McIntosh. - At April 18, 2007 9:12 PM , said...

You know, last time I looked, I wasn't in charge of Howard. Trust him or distrust him, that's all on you.
What's a flag lot? Believe it or not, several of us don't know.
FYI - I am working on a wrapping up a pretty big project for school. I'm keeping an eye out on things, but I'll catch up some postings when I wrap up this project. - At April 19, 2007 11:54 PM , said...

at the time the decission was made, that all building lots would be 1/2 acres, there existed lots less than 1/2 acres. these were discribed as flag lots and were afforded building rights. but our ordanance states that no flag lot can be created. when howard helped his brother the revvv walkup, he divided a portioon of said lot such that a flag lot was created,,,,,,,,,thus creating value where there was none. the very least howard should do is request a variance to correct the situation.

poCher,
This has become a character
assassination site. How can
you in good faith allow this
to happen. I could name the hand
full of trouble makers in town
that are writing these lies, but
that would make me no better than
them! PLEASE do something to
correct this problem. - At April 21, 2007 2:22 PM , Cher said...

I have no problem looking into something if you think there is a problem with the blog.
When you don't sign your name and you declare that the blog impugns characters without stating specific examples for why you believe this and why you believe "troublemakers" are "lying," you are actually doing the same thing as those you are accusing.
Most people who read the blog and post in the forums know that signing your name gives your comments more credibility. I'm not going to force people to sign off on their comments.
Why? Because there are people in this town who won't comment or speak out against some issues and decisions due to fear of being ostracized by their neighbors. I've heard this several times in deep background discussions regarding the current rezoning of public officials' lands. Frankly, it is my opinion that that is just sad and amounts to people in control beating down those who don't agree with them.
The discussion in this thread -- when it's coherent -- centers around public figures. People have a right to talk about the actions of elected officials. In a free democracy, it's actually necessary.
In addition, comments made in the forums are opinion. People have rights to their opinions, especially about their public officials. Whether I disagree or agree with their opinions, I will not shut that process down. I'm sorry that you disagree with that.
When I post reports and editorials on blog, I go to lengths to make sure I can document, support or stand by my reporting. That, I can do.
But I don't want to control what other people say. I can't, "in good faith" as you say, stop people from expressing their opinions.
I'll be getting the rest of the meeting files up this week, as I finish my school project and have time. Again, sorry for any delays. - At April 27, 2007 3:51 PM , said...

Cher Anonymous said Howard created a flag lot which means they do not know what a flag lot is.A FLAG LOT IS A LOT WITHOUT STREET FRONTAGE.
Also the other anonymous said he bought a tractor same time the Town did- that is not true and You can check this out very easy, and the 122 violation not true. These Anonymous are talking through an empty head.

See, that wasn't so hard.
Specific, informative comments by someone who signed her name... see how much more credible those comments?

I'm Cher From McIntosh, FL I'm a graduate student at the University of Florida working on a master's degree in Mass Communication. While I was finishing my undergrad degree in journalism last year, I reported on McIntosh, Fla. for an in-depth reporting class. I figured that the reporting and the public record files should go somewhere people can access them. Reporters don't report to keep the information they find to themselves. Some of that reporting is included here in a forum that allows response. McIntosh suffers because with no news coverage, the local government and the rumor mill have too much potential to run rampant over residents. I moved to McIntosh in the fall of 1999. My profile
